Was there any promotion for the "People Like Us" album?

Postby Midnight Voyager » Sun Nov 14, 2010 7:33 pm

When the album was released, I wonder if there was a promotional campaign for it. Did any member of the Mamas & Papas make any appearances or give any interviews, collectively or individually? Was there any effort to create a buzz about their reunion? I suppose, since the group saw this only as a contract obligation, they had no motivation to be involved with it (or each other!) in any way.

Hi midnight vyager,
Good question. I don't know if there was ever any promotion for People Like Us, but I know at the time there was a Rolling Stone review. I think Cass was quoted in it, but I'm not sure about anyone else. Hope this helps.
Take care,

yes, there was a big article in Newsweek called "Family Reunion." The review of the album itself was decidedly mixed, with praise being delivered to "Snowqueen of Texas" with harmonies that were called fresh and super, but that other songs sounded like warmed-over yesterdays. I'm not a big fan of the album myself, although they did at least try a different sound.
