Differences in the early 90's Capitol Journeymen re-mixes?

Postby Ars_Nova_Chris » Wed Jul 22, 2009 1:01 am

Was listening to the CD "The Very Best of the Journeymen", which is a reissue of the Capitol Collectors Series disc.

I remember reading years ago that all of the tracks on there were remixed for the Capitol Collectors disc, I believe in the early 90's, but never gave it much thought. Was listening to the disc, and noticed that, at 1:14 in "All the Pretty Little Horses", there's a low octave vocal part that's totally been removed in the remix.

Got me thinking, has anyone ever went through and checked for other big differences in the remixes?

There are a lot of subtle (and not so subtle" differences such as that which you picked up in All The Pretty Little Horses. The Journeymen were in the studio enough that I know when we worked on The Collector's Choice CD's there were sometimes mulitple versions of some songs. And, I think there was some tooling with things in the Capitol Collectors' CD. Richard
